Guide: how to connect SEMERO to ChatGPT and Claude

You already ask ChatGPT or Claude about all sorts of things. Now you can ask about delivery too: "how much does it cost to bring 20 kg from China for an LLC?" or "will I have to pay duty on a 200 EUR parcel?". Once SEMERO is connected, the assistant answers with SEMERO data instead of generic advice from the internet: indicative DHL and FedEx rates, customs clearance rules and the list of prohibited goods. It takes 2 minutes and costs nothing.

What you need

  • A ChatGPT or Claude account. Whether you can add your own server depends on your plan: if the menu has no "Add custom MCP server" / "Add custom connector" item, your plan does not support it. In Claude even a free account allows one custom connector.
  • The SEMERO server address (below, with a "Copy" button).
  • No SEMERO registration or sign-in is required.

Connecting in ChatGPT — 5 steps

Step 1. In the ChatGPT left menu, open "Plugins".

Step 2. In the top right, click "Add" → "Add custom MCP server".

Step 3. Fill in the form:

  • Name: SEMERO – Express Post Service
  • Description (optional): Delivery costs to/from Ukraine, duty and VAT, DHL and FedEx customs rules
  • Connection: "Server URL" → https://semeropost.com.ua/mcp — exactly like this, without a trailing slash
  • Authentication: open the list and choose exactly "No auth", not the mixed option
  • Do not open the "Advanced OAuth settings" block and do not enter anything there
  • Tick "I understand and want to continue" and click "Create as plugin"

ChatGPT shows the risk warning for any custom server. The SEMERO server is reference-only: it changes nothing, deletes nothing and does not ask for your data.

Step 4. In the confirmation window, click "Connect SEMERO – Express Post Service".

Step 5. Done: the plugin appears under "Plugins" → "Personal" tab → "Created by you". Open a new chat and ask a delivery question.

Connecting in Claude (web and Desktop) — 10 steps

Open claude.ai or Claude Desktop. Set up the connector once: it will be available on the website, in Desktop and in the mobile app.

Step 1. In the left menu, open Customize → Connectors.

Step 2. Click + Add in the top right.

Step 4. Enter SEMERO in the Name field.

Step 5. Paste https://semeropost.com.ua/mcp into Remote MCP server URL, without spaces or a trailing slash.

Step 6. Click Continue.

Step 7. Under Authentication, choose No sign in. No SEMERO login, password or API key is needed.

Step 9. Open a new chat and click + next to the input field.

Step 10. Hover over Connectors and turn on the SEMERO toggle.

Checking the Claude connection

Ask a question and explicitly request SEMERO. Look for the SEMERO tool-use indicator in the response; mentioning the name in the text alone does not confirm a tool call. The indicator may look different.

Claude Code and Cursor

In Claude Code, add the server with one terminal command:

In Cursor, add this entry to ~/.cursor/mcp.json. If it already contains other servers, keep them and add semero to the existing mcpServers object.

What the assistant can and cannot do

It can:

  • give the indicative cost of DHL/FedEx express delivery;
  • explain customs formalities for companies and private individuals;
  • estimate duty and VAT for parcels of private individuals;
  • describe the delivery route within Ukraine;
  • check prohibited and restricted goods;
  • give the carrier's tracking link;
  • answer from the SEMERO FAQ.

It does not: place orders, determine UKTZED (HS) codes (SEMERO's customs broker does that), show where a parcel is, or access your data.

Frequently asked questions

Is it paid?

The SEMERO server is free; you only need a ChatGPT or Claude account on a plan that allows custom servers.

Is it safe?

The server is reference-only: it records nothing and cannot see your conversations or data.

The assistant doesn't see SEMERO — what should I do?

Open a new chat and check that SEMERO is connected (ChatGPT: "Plugins" → "Personal"; Claude: "+" → "Connectors"). Make sure the address has no trailing slash and authentication is set to "No auth".

Can I order delivery through the assistant?

No, please email us or message us on WhatsApp.

Where else does it work?
